Nobody Left to Lie To
The American legacy media has completely drained itself of its historical credibility and has now been left to wander off, like a certain American president, into total irrelevance.
Is there anything that our discredited legacy media won’t do to cover up the truth?
What exact purpose do these hollowed-out institutions serve?
Are you tired of being lied to yet?
The American legacy media has been lying to its readers, listeners, and observers for generations. The lying is in its nature but was historically tempered by a small guiding amount of personal integrity from a few who put their names on what was being reported. Today, there is hardly any integrity to be found at all.
We’ve seen our legacy media become activist, mixing hard facts with commentary and opinion, and changing narratives to fit a particular mindset while insisting on their unearned credibility and authority of fact. The fancy mastheads and modern news studios are still there – the trust and believability, however, have been shattered.
Some people will lie to your face. The American legacy media are putting it in writing and broadcasting it on your flat-screen TV.
We live in a complete landscape of media lies. Some are benign, some are consequential, others are institutionalized. Men can become women by putting on makeup and a dress. The climate is changing due to us driving SUVs and eating steaks. Diversity is what makes us stronger, not meritocracy which is an oppressive tool of toxic masculine white men.
The recent presidential debate put to rest the unbelievable lie that Joe Biden was “sharp as a tack” and “runs circles” around those half his age. The Biden administration, empowered by much of the American legacy media, was allowed to coin a new slur “cheap fake” to cover for a president in obvious decline of his mental and physical capacities, insisting that video and audio evidence of decline was “misinformation” and “selectively edited” to present a false image of a clearly failing elderly man who is supposedly in charge of the U.S.
The media’s incessant gaslighting was finally exposed to the masses by the June 27 debate. But not before it had served its purpose, which was to hide two stone cold facts. First, Joe Biden is not mentally or physically qualified to be campaigning for president. Second, our legacy media is been engaged in a broad series of disgraceful cover-ups of this and has been for years.
We were force-fed the cover-up that the COVID injections were “safe and effective.” We were told that it was in the interest of “public safety” that kids should be kept from going to school, and that “non-essential” businesses needed to be shut down. Anyone questioning these harsh measures was branded by the legacy media as “anti-science” and were spreading “misinformation” that needed to be silenced. It’s interesting to note that we hear virtually nothing today about the need for any of these measures now that facts are emerging on how criminally ineffective they were.
We were force-fed the cover-up that the laptop computer owned by Hunter Biden was nothing more than an elaborate “Russian disinformation” scheme as obediently reported by the American legacy media with no intellectual or professional curiosity at all. All of the photo and text evidence of massive corruption, criminality, and deviancy of the Bidens was right there. The insistences that this was just clever “Russian counterintelligence” were obvious lies, yet they were spread like wildfire among major media outlets with no hesitation.
We were force-fed the cover-up for three-plus years that Joe Biden was actively engaged as president, that he was “too busy” to conduct press conferences and live interviews, that “the adults were back in the room” and America is “respected more than ever” under Biden’s leadership. That incident at the G7 summit where Biden wandered off? That freeze-up moment at the Juneteenth concert? Those all-too-often moments where Biden mumbles something incomprehensible into a microphone, then mimics a Roomba on stage in front of a crowd and tries to shake hands with a ghost? We’re told that it simply did not happen. Yeah, it happened.
Each lie is spread without hesitation, no matter how absurd, and no matter how easily refuted. And once refuted, there is no apology, no retraction, no punishment (aside from dwindling media subscriptions and viewership). American media outlets simply move on, pretending that their gaslighting didn’t happen, hoping that the people will just forget about it.
And there is absolutely nothing holding the legacy media back from lying again due to the fact that there is no tangible accountability for the lies aside from people refusing to go along with them any longer.
While intended for immediate cultural and political gain, the benefits stemming from the lies of the legacy media are short-term and temporary, yet they have long-term consequences. A legacy media that cannot be trusted any longer has no value to its intended customers, leading people to wall themselves off from traditional news platforms and gravitate toward new media sources, stocking up on a healthy measure of skepticism in the process.
Over and over, one-hundred-plus-year-old media institutions are failing. Massive media conglomerates are shedding consumers of their content and losing billions of dollars with no end in sight. The legacy media marches on, pretending this is not happening and continuing to gaslight its audience.
An entire population is tuning out its discredited, morally bankrupt legacy media. The people understand that they have been lied to, and those media institutions know that the people know, and yet the media platforms continue to lie.
Eventually, there will be nobody left to lie to.
